Surrounded by azure waters and basking in the tropical sun you will be enjoying your luxurious accommodation. Activities include excellent snorkeling and scuba diving on the breathtaking reefs viewing the vast array of colourful fish and the extraordinary shaped coral.

    The shallow, crystal clear waters with dazzling soft corals, starfish, anemones, seahorses and a bewildering range of beautiful fish, extends to many other water activities. Anglers can experience the thrill of deep sea fishing, fighting marlin or game fish. Alternatively you can take a delightful picnic and explore the birdlife along the tideline and the freshwater lakes or simply comb deserted beaches in solitude and serenity. Choose one out of three luxurious accommodations for your five day stay.

    Option 1: Benguerra Island Lodge ( Days 1-4)

    Upon your arrival at Vilanculos Airport you will be met and transferred by road and boat to Benguerra Lodge. Benguerra Lodge set amidst indigenous milkwood trees overlooking Benguerra Bay consists of an open-fronted thatch and reed main building embracing the lounge, bar and dining room area flanked by secluded chalets. 

    Built on stilts, each chalet offers en-suite facilities and a private balcony.  Activities at Benguerra Lodge include excellent snorkeling and scuba diving on the breathtaking reefs viewing the vast array of colourful fish and the extraordinary shaped coral.   A highlight would be the sighting of a dugong or the green turtles, while goldies, blue-banded snappers, rubberlips, potato and brindle bass, manta and eagle rays, kingfish, frogfish, crocodilefish, stonefish, scorpionfish, lionfish, parrotfish, pipefish, nose-striped and two-bar clownfish and a number of shark species are regularly encountered. 

    You may go windsurfing and sailing by hobiecat or enjoy a sunset sail on a dhow.  Birding is spectacular at Benguerra.  The mangrove forest, beaches and freshwater lakes harbour between 80 – 115 species depending on the season.  A highlight is the flocks of flamingoes that breed in the lakes.  Anglers can experience the thrill of deep sea fishing, fighting marlin or game fish, in the fully equipped boats with an experienced skipper and ghillie.  

    Saltwater flyfishermen can meander around the flats in a specially constructed boat, casting for the rare bonefish.  You may also visit the fishermen villages or the market at Vilanculos.  Alternatively you can take a delightful picnic and explore the birdlife along the tideline and the freshwater lakes or simply comb deserted beaches in solitude and serenity.  (Scuba diving, scuba equipment hire and boat hire for fishing or excursions are at extra cost and must be paid for at Benguerra Lodge). 

    Overnights at Benguerra Lodge in a twin bedded chalet built on stilts with en suite facilities.  Accommodation is on a full board basis including activities. Activities include one snorkel trip, one landrover trip with picnic lunch and one sunset cruise per stay.  Diving at an additional cost.

    Day 5: Departure Day

    You will be transferred by road and boat to Vilanculous Airport.
