Day 1: Livingstone to Luangwa Bridge, ZambiaLeaving early from Livingstone you head north through rural Zambia where you spend the night at Luangwa Bridge. Lunch and Dinner. Day 2: Lilongwe, MalawiThis morning you depart for Malawi, the “warm heart of Africa” where you spend the night in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. Here you also prepare for your trip to the Lake and have the opportunity to shop at some of the many local markets. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Days 3, 4 & 5: Lake Malawi, MalawiCamping on the shores of Lake Malawi, you have a few days to explore the area and this large fresh water lake. Visit the areas shops and stunning markets. Meet the locals and see their crafts, famous for their carved mahogany chairs and other artefacts.
A visit to a local village will give you an understanding of day-to-day life in Malawi. There are many water sports available on the Lake including snorkelling, diving, fishing and canoeing. Lake Malawi boasts 500 species of magnificent coloured fish. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 6: Blantyre, MalawiAfter breakfast you head southwards to the town of Blantyre. Established by Scottish missionaries the town is the crossroads to Mozambique. This is also reputed to be the busiest city in the country. Here you will spend your last night in Malawi. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 7: Chimoio, MozambiqueToday you cross into Mozambique for your safari tour. Enter the country and make your way to the small town of Chimoio. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Days 8, 9 & 10 Vilanculos, MozambiqueYou reach the coast of Mozambique and relax on the beach of this coastal town. Once a sleepy fishing village, Vilanculos is one of the most scenic spots on the Mozambique coast and the departure point for the Bazaruto Archipelago.
This area has a number of world class beaches – palm fringed, with wide expanses of powdery, white sand, washed by the warm blue waters of the Indian Ocean. You camp in Vilanculos where you have the option of taking a day trip to the Islands for some snorkelling, doing the may other water based activities, or just relaxing on the beach. Breakfast and Dinner. Days 11 & 12: Inhambane / Tofo, MozambiqueYour beach days are not over yet, as you set up camp in Tofo. You can snorkel, scuba dive, take a walk along the coast or explore the markets of Inhambane, a bustling trading town on your Mozambique safari tour. The Mozambique coastline is renowned for its fishing and the Inhabane province is at the heart of the action. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 13 Maputo, MozambiqueLeaving the peace and tranquillity of the beach behind, you continue on to the bustling capital city of Maputo where you have a free day on your Mozambique safari tour to explore this city and it’s rich cultural history. With its attractive tree lined avenues it has a unique almost European feel about it and has some great local restaurants. Breakfast. Days 14 & 15: Kruger National Park, South AfricaYou make your way to the famous Kruger National Park where you go on game drives looking for some of the approximately 706 different species of animals that inhabit the Park, including the Big Five. You spend your last night camping inside the Park, listening to the sounds of the wild and you have the option of a night drive. Breakfast and Dinner. Day 16: Johannesburg, South AfricaRising early you try and spot some more animals before taking a relaxed drive back to Johannesburg arriving late afternoon. Breakfast. Included:
